| Hi everyone !! This is an exclusive English-speaking topic It would be a good idea, if everyone who has got a positive mail from CIEP (for 2009-10) can introduce himself/herself here in this topic, to try to get to know each other better !!For a start, here I am !! I'm Gribouille48, I'll be 21 in May and I am currently a student in L3 in Clermont-Ferrand !! Hope I'll get through with my Licence !! In my CIEP file, I have chosen the regions 02, 11, 14, that is around London north-east, north-west and south-west. For the time being, I've no idea of where I'll be (as many among you too I guess). And last but not least, I really hope to get to know other people around here | |

| Hi to all French assistant to be and Gribouille48, I'm 24, I come from La Réunion ( for those who don't know it's located in the South hemisphere near Madagascar and Mauritius 10 000 km from Paris lol) and I sat at the CAPES this year ( I'm still waiting for the results). I apply for a second year as an assistant in Scotland ( again) lol , I can't remember my other choices I think it was South west England and north of England as well ( 17). A few days ago I got a mail from the CIEP which announced me that I was on the mainlist I'm looking forward to hearing from You soon, cheers. ps : for those who are still on the waiting list don't worry as I've already said I used to be on the waiting list when I went a year ago as an assistant and I got my first choice so really I do know how annoying it is but everybody will go | |

| Hi Nana Welcome down here rb Gribouille, my pleasure; I'm waiting for my written results and if I passed them I'll fly to Lille for the oral exam. As far as my first year in Scotland is concerned, I had a whale of a time. I met new people from different origins and I took the plane as if I were catching the bus thanks to Ryan Air lol ( Dublin, London)but I think a year is not enough to go to places u wanted too. I worked in a High School and its five associated Primaries. Well speakin' in English about that seems a bit superficial anyway in the sense u can't really bring ur feelings and there're so much to say about this so in a word it was AWESOME ps good luck for your Licence Miss Nana

| Hi Nana!! Nice to meet you!! Thanks for your compliments for the topic !! It is an idea which popped up in my mind yesterday. By the way, how is it going your exams at Rennes (in regard to the strikes) ?? In Clermont, we are getting closer to our final exams, it's the period !! I'll end them mid-may I think. Thanks for the Licence, so good luck to you too !! Re to Myriam!! I truly hope you'll get through fine with the CAPES!! That'd be great if you could succeed!! (before the "great" [irony] reforms). It's so great to read that you spent a great time in Scotland !! Honestly, that reassures me a bit 'cause I've never done an experience like the one I'm going to go through, so that's good to know people are having a great time !! See you very soon both of you!! Hope to hear from you and from other students (or not) too going abroad next year !! | |

Yeah the strikes ... well we have 2 more weeks of classes (rattrapages) and on May 18 = exams but I don't know, I haven't had much classes this semester so it is complicated, I have an exam on Monday but last time I had a class was in February so it is gonna be hard. Lucky you, you re almost over!!! I love your irony about the great reforms, I totally agree with you on that... thanks for the licence I hope I ll get it this year !!!
I m sure more and more people are gonna join us !!! have a good day

Honestly, I think I am losing my english because of the strike

| hey hey everyone! I'm Louise, 20 and already in L3 in Lille ^^ I soooo understand what you said lil princess about losing your English, I feel the same way after only one month of strike and not talking to a native for quite a bit. As for my choices, if I remember them correctly, it was 11 first, then the area of Yorkshire and finally the 17th; yet I don't really care where i'll go, I just want to have a jolly good experience lol
hope to hear from other students as well

| Well hi everyone,
I'm Titsteph from Paris and i've just been informed by the CIEP that I was on the mainlist so I'm basically thrilled!!! My preferences were Wales, the Liverpool and Brighton Areas so that I'm close to Wales.
This is actually the second time i applied to become an assistant, the first time was 5 years ago and I had a fab time so i figured i'd do it again and it worked!!!
I hope all will be good for you capes and licence wise!!

| Hey Myriam,
Well the first time I was in Cardiff (Wales) and although before i goth the email from my Mentor teacher I had no idea where Wales was, it was a frigging good year!!! I met brilliant people both local and assistants. I'm not a teacher yet because i'm a very slow decision-maker and at that time I was certainly not ready to teach. It's been five years though and now I'm ready, that's why I'm applying again, i'd like to stay there afterwards.

| Hi there, I don't think I'll be very active here, as in my opinion it's quite odd to speak english with french people... But anyway, I'm Fanny, 22 years old , from Magny les hameaux ( that's between Versailles and Paris) I'm studying literature at university, and will be done with my bachelor by the end of june... I asked for 1, 15 and 14, choices that I regret now as I have a nice suitor in Ipswich ( number 14) | |

I remind everyone of this group being to get to know each other for the next year!! P.S.: If I'm not wrong, I'm the only boy, around here ... so sad! The myth of the male French assistant is sheer cr*p, if I may say so... Still hope to hear from other assistants for 2009-2010 I can't help hoping... I love hoping...

| Hi Clarika!! Nice to meet you!! It can sound weird as you say to speak English with French, but it's a first step, like at school when you are taught by a French teacher (who learnt English)... Then when you go to UK, you'll be able to speak English everyday!! That'll be great!! Anyway, I think there are nobody for the moment who 'vowed' to go to Northern Ireland, but I must say that when I went to Dublin (Ireland, though not Northern Ireland), I spent a great time!! I should have done like you, to vow for Northern Ireland. Have a great day! | |
